Not much help but heres what I know! I went two thursdays ago and caught only a couple small ones. gave up and started chasing the black bass and had a good day of that. Did see a guy fishing a laydown almost all the way up the oxbow within probably 100yds of the riprap barrier wall. He caught about 20 in maybe two hours. my buddy fishin with me caught a nice male on a 1/2 white rattletrap on a weededge. went back to that spot a lil later thinking maybe they were stacked in there but nuthin. If you want crappie I would say go go Gibson right now and fish the lower part of the lake. Better quality fish and they always seem more eager to swallow a minner!

I went saturday evening for a couple of hours 4-28. I was catching them hit and miss. Caught a few on the south of the ramp, but i saw 2 snakes and got scared off. I was tied up to a log and i noticed about 20 mins later there was a moccassin curled up on it. then i saw another eatling my dead minnow. So I left that area. But I did go up a little north caught a few more along with one of the biggest crappie I have ever caught in about 2 feet of water, blue a fuse on my trolling motor because it was stuck in the mud. The crappie weighed 2.3 pounds and full of eggs. Overall it was slow, I caught 3 that i could keep I will post a picture.

I dropped my needle nosed pliers in the bluff as you can see she had to come home with the jig in her mouth

I was out there Saturday. Started off by realizing my tank was almost empty so I had to stay around the ramp all day. By 10:00 I only had 1 crappie. Once it started getting hot everything changed and I ended up with a limit of keepers by 2:30. They were up shallow, on the sunny banks, in the isolated shade with some type of brush nearby. I tried the banks with long stretches of shade without much success. Either they were spread out because there was so much shade or they liked the warmer water on the sunny side, maybe both. Oh yeah, the fish liked brush better than logs. They're not kidding about the snakes. The good news is that I've only seen 1 cottonmouth out of about 20 non-poisonous watersnakes.
