I haven't fished with a lot of tube jigs for crappie.
But what are your favorite colors and brands of these tube jigs and how big do you use?
Think I might try some of that this weekend.
There's a myriad of brands out there to try, however after owning a tackle shop for a number of years I can honestly say most are mfg. by Southern Pro Tackle the most widely used brand in the U.S. by far. The 1.5" is most comonly used but this time of year try the flair tails , they have a little bigger profile plus if you need scent just insert a crappie nibble inside, hope this helps out......rip that lip!

red/chart, orange/chart, black/chart
Its all about how ya wiggle it!
I have found a new color that works great in Tbird, I call it ghost minnor. I use it on a white jig. The body is clear with silver specks. Very good bait.

~KIDS IN THE FRONT SEAT CAUSES ACCIDENTS, ACCIDENTS IN THE BACK SEAT CAUSES KIDS!!
Wow - favorite? Not to sound sarcastic but whatever they are hittin at the moment. I try to keep a selection close by because if they stop hittin one color combo they will sometimes hit another.
For years I fished a maribou jig pattern called christmas tree. They were red head, green body with a yellow maribou tail. Nowadays using plastics I just concentrate on any head and body combo with char or white tails and switch them up when the bite is slow.
I look at the water and determine color from what I see. If it's muddy water I like hot pink or hot orange sometimes even black with scent and lot's of finger wiggling on the jig to cause vibration. If it's clear I like clear or white with glitter and chartreuse is always a winner. If it's green colored water I love it and feel like any color will work if it's fished right. As Larry Collier said it's not me but what turns on the fish that I like. Sometimes I have more luck with a certain jig and catch a lot of fish and a year later can't even buy a bite with that jig so I have become flexible. I like plastics because of the quick change ability they give you. I really like Fin-S-Shad and Curly Tails. I have had luck with the Bobby Garland line also and the Charlie Brewer line. I've caught a lot of fish with Southern Pro too. On Grand Lake I like maribou or hair jigs. On Keystone I like plastics.
3 Cs of fishing; Concentration, Confidence and cock the jig.
I've done all the fishing I want to do, I'm into the catching.
