Anyone know where to get a good topo map for K-M? Fishing Hotspots doesn't have any on their website. I'm fishin' the C-USA Regional in June and would like to study the map and make a pre-fishing plan.
Any hep would be appreciated.

Have you tried looking it up on Google Earth for an over head view? Might be able to find small creeks from that view.
I drove by there this afternoon and it looked like you could surf out there today. It was so windy and murky and in fact the wind was blowing water over the top of the gates on the lock.
If all else fails there is always topozone.com
Go to this web sight. Shows you everything. You can print off you own map.

Any problems e-mail me back.
Great info Sandbass I added that one to my favorites.
I've done all the fishing I want to do, I'm into the catching.
Thank you kindly gents. It's the best I could find at present moment.
I'm going to check at Bass Pro this week also and see if Navionics has done anything as far as mapping. My fishing partner has a Lowrance X25 that we could rig to my boat for the tourney if necessary.
Have you gentlemen seen the 979's from Humminbird in person yet. They are really hyping them up. I'm seeing them promoted on a lot of fishing shows and last night they had a whole show dedicated to the side scan technology. I thought Al Linder was going to make a mess in his pant over this thing. That's showbiz and marketing, but it's got me thinking about how you can make one pass down a shoreline and move the cursor over to a piece of brush or rock pile and mark it on the GPS without actually passing over it. Unfortunately though, there are times of the years when the big fat Momma's arn't relating to brush.

Hey Kit I had the 987 for a couple years and now just put the 997 on my boat it is much better in my opinion than the 987 and yes they dont relate to brush all the time but I had no trouble at the CUSA tourny seeing the fish that were out there wondering and I could tell they were crappie also it is a great unit

One of these days I'll convince myself to spend more on electronics. Right now my best sounder is an Eagle Fishmark 320. It's cheap, but it shows brush and contour well enough.
I'm going to have trouble spending more on my depth finder than my boat is worth minus the motor. I'll have to keep putting my pocket change away and maybe in five years the prices will be down enough and I'll have enough collected to buy it outright. We have lots of projects around the house to complete before dropping that kind of $$$.
...............But if I win enough on the CUSA trail, I can assure you I'll be running the Humminbird side scan..........

I've never seen one of the sidescans in action other than in demo mode but after hearing my nephew tell of his experience I was impressed. My nephew is a guy who couldn't tell a lie or even exagerate a story if his life depended on it so his story carrys lots of weight with me.
He went out with a friend of his who had put a sidescan on his boat the month before. They played around with the locator around channels and brushpiles for awhile and Jeff said although he liked what he was seeing he couldn't justify the cost for his style of fishing.
Then while crossing some flats his friend stopped the boat and let Jeff take a good look at the bottom. He said there was an old spring mattress laying on the bottom and he could see every spring. Not just shapes that he could interpret as springs, but he could see the coils of the springs!
He still has a problem with cost, as I do, but when the prices drop, and they will in time, you'll be seeing one on his boat and mine.
