Default Copan crappie in the Summer

Does anyone Fish Copan in the Summer time and catch Crappie? If so, what depths are you finding them in? Relating to structure?

i have had great results fishing the standing timber on the edge of the river channel. starting with the first trees on the south end. take your jig, and let it down slowly next to the tree, down to about 12'. if not bit lift up slowly, then to the next tree. there are enough trees to keep you busy. there is lots of brush in the copan point cove just out from the boat ramp, and in and around the swimming beach cove in 12FOW or less. drop shot some minnows down. PM for more info if interested.

    Default summer time

the fishing is hot at Copan. If I can catch them, they are knee deep. Timber and I fished brush piles in 10FOW. drop shooting minnows was best. the crappie are stuck to any piece of wood you can find. Timber has figured out the two pole stroll! Monkey see monkey do!

Having short relatives out of school sure stimulates your interest in summertime crappie action - right TC? Nice post. I think my favorite fishing pictures would be of Timber and Dr. Nips " crappie girl!"

Timber had to make it through 2 days at school. Then we made it back up there Friday evening! Fishing is good. Fish have started to move a little.
