Lots of fish on the banks. Unfortunately, only 4 good ones, and three of those were large males. The female had not yet spawned. Also got 38 dinks, 2 16" bass, 2 channel cats, 4 warmouth, two greenears, and 2 bluegills.
Only saw 3 other keepers. One guy had two on a cork and jig outfit, and an Asian guy got a large crappie on a spinnerbait.
The boaters that I talked with were doing no good.

Just thought I'd bring Carl Blackwell back to front page! I've been out to the dock for the past 2 weekends and done pretty good. I took home this sunday 20 crappie, let go another 10 that I "could" have kept and had several self releases!!!. Everything was between 12 and 14 feet using 2inch BG electric chicken and my favorite penny back. 20 decent crappie in 2 hours and had a fantastic crappie taco dinner.

Are you the only one catching any out of that dock?

Took the wife out late in the afternoon. Tried feather jigs, ice spoon, and minnows. Got a bunch of dinks, and two that made 10 and 11 inches. Four other people there, keeping a LOT of dinks. They DID get a couple of 14s. Nice day, much better than the winter storms that we just left in Montana.

Fished LCB a couple times last week. Not much to brag about. Friday we fished when the cold front had come in and the bite was very slow. 3 of us in the boat and we caught maybe 9 or 10 keepers and several dinks. Fished structure in 12-20' of water with the most activity coming from 17' fishing real close to the bottom. Most of the bites came from holding bait very still near the bottom with a 1/16 ounce jig and no certain color. Sat morning my wife and I fished a couple of hours and found almost same thing. Big fish were not real active. Most fish came off brush piles in 18' and fishing close to the pile with small stingers or 1/16 hair jigs tipped with crappie nibblets. We caught 33 fish in 2.5 hours and out of those we had 3 keepers. Water temp was around 58.6 on sat. Enjoyed getting to spend a little time on the water with my wife even if the big fish didn't want to play.

Hit LCB yesterday in the afternoon. Got about 60 dinks, and 12 between 10 and 12 inches. Let the one BIG one (13"-14") get unbuttoned. Most of them came by casting out and letting the jig swing back in. Most hits came as the jig was sinking on the swing in. The fish were at a lot of different depths, down to 22'. Some fish hit while just slowly cranking the jig up, three of them a foot down. Weird!
