I know alot of people don't like to eat spoonbill but....for those who do, what is your favorite way to prepare it? Yes I know this is a crappie site but what the heck! Thanks ahead of time.

Haven't tried it, but I know a guy that wipes spoonbill steak with olive oil, fish seasoning, and throws it on the grill. He loves it.
Thanks Starfish! 60 views with 1 response. I guess nobody does eat this fish! I think the steaks are great. They are exactly like swordfish steaks.
I have a buddy that used to snag down below the dam here in Little Rock. He told me about a guy that stabbed another down there one night fighting over a spoonbill so it must be good. Just dont know how to cook it.
Stabbed? Wow. It is good. I like it like Starfish said. It's best on the grill with some olive oil and some seasoning. The meat is firm and VERY tasty! Thanks for the comments everybody.
Hey JW I wonder if you could troll with weighted trebble hooks and snag them things over at Gibson I know there are hundreds of them in the lake some days they are jumping everywhere which gave me the idea and I also know they travel in small schools as I have seen them on the side imager on my humminbird 987
I used to eat them but man they stink i cant clean one anymore and then try to eat it.
I used to catch them below Gibson years ago. They are one of the best tasting fish in the water. I always just cut them up into small peices and fried them like Crappie, but I bet they would be great on the barbie!
A penny saved is a Congressional spending oversight.
I just saw this post - I think it is some of the finest fish to eat, period.
I like it cut into small "fish sticks" I call them and rolled in either corn meal
and cajun seasoning, or just flour like you would fry chicken, and deep fried.
I hear ya on the smell - ever had one puke or sh*t in your boat?:D
But most all of the ones I've cleaned and ate were caught in October or
November, doens't seem so bad with a little chill in the air.
