    Default Trolling Crankbaits

Hey, any of you guys do any trolling with crakbaits for crappie? I know the Mississippi Message Board has a few posts on trolling, but I was looking for some information on the Okie board. I was hoping some local info might help me and others boat a few more fish. Thanks for any help

I live in Ada, and fish on Texoma, Upper end, Little Glasses mainly. Springtime fish are not a problem, but now through October, those little rascals go somewhere and I can quite find them. Trying to expand my tactics. Yes, that is a good article he put on and he apparently knows how to fish.

I would think longlining jigs might be the ticket as the stripers might eat you up with cranks more so than jigs

Especially when I get one with my 11' rod with a little zebco underspin. But we have caught a bunch of stripers on 2" twister tails. During the fall and spring we do tightline jigs a bunch and we pack in the kids and everybody catches some. I'm convinced that you could pull any lure you wanted through a school of stripers and they are going to hit it. Crankbaits are just a way of depth control, and they are actually a little easier in that if you have to stop the boat, they float up instead of down getting hung up.

thanks, dreeser, I have it already. For any of you guys interested in trolling, there is a great discussion in the main forum on depths of bandit cranks.
