Mountain Lake
The day started out looking like a wash. All the way down there, yesterday morning, it was raining. It had us questioning our choice of day to go. We got there and sorted the boat and loaded it to the water, in the rain. My buddy had a poncho and I had not. He asks if I still wanted to fish, but of course the fish are already wet
. The rain began to taper off and stop. The large mouth started hitting the surface. We caught many 13”-14”. We found the spot that rockjawjohnny (thank you) described and caught a few crappie on drop shot watermelon seed beaver tail. I think the weather had their pattern messed up. Throughout the day we caught large mouth and crappie trolling (chartreuse crank bait) and jigging (black/chartreuse twirl tail jig). Then a big rain blew in about 5:00pm to get us off the lake.
We brought home 8 good size crappie. What with rippin lips, all the largemouth we caught and the weather changing, it was a very good first trip to Mountain.

sorry to hear that.
We did pretty good at Thunderbird Saturday, under the bridge. Caught several crappie, brought home 5. I caught a good sand bass. My girlfriend caught a saugeye. The other people there were catching crappie, too, and lots of sunfish, plus catfish. A little bit of everything.
