Southern Woman - Lawzy Girl! Now you a talkin about some home style soul food.Could ya do me a favor and include an appetizer maybe some of that scrumptious "diller pate". You know that recipe your famous for using fresh armadillo.........served on a full shell instead of a half shell. YOU KNOW THERE IS GONNA BE ALOT OF PEOPLE COMIN AND YOU DON'T WANT TO DISAPPOINT THEM!!

I sure appreciate everyone's commitment to bring a dish of food. We want all to be served regardless if they can bring anything or not.

The only restriction I will place on food brought in will be for safety reasons; Number 1 on the hit list will be any food that used eggs in preparation. Including meringue pies!

Foods prepared with eggs will need to be transported to the get-together in an ice chest to keep the temperature down in the low 40's. Once the person arrives at the facility, the dish must be brought in immediately and placed in the refrigerator.

This includes pies made with a meringue topping, sorry. I love pies served at room temperature or fresh out of the oven........but, the danger of salmonella poisoning is just too risky.

Next on the hit list is anything made with chicken or chicken parts. Same rule applies as above for dishes made with eggs.

Other foods just require some common sense; Short travel times and foods that are smoked require little if any temperature control en-route to get together. Just use good sanitary methods for preparation and transportation.

I also suggest names be written on the dishes presented at the meeting for lunch for easily identification afterwards.

There are nice kitchen facilities and if you choose to wash up your dish before leaving, it will simple and welcomed.

Overall, let's have fun, enjoy our meal together, and make this a great time. Thanks all!

Oh, PS: Do not, I repeat DO NOT give your pie to George. George will not put your pie up to be served later, George will eat your pie as soon as you are out of sight. You will never see your pie alive again. And if it's a pecan pie, do not even let on to George you brought a pie.

    Fair warning folks!:D

    Default mayo

Hey Stink, don't forget anything with mayonaise, like potato salad. Mayo has eggs in it.

Wouldn't want any of you to get sick! Where would I get my crappie info from? :D

Wish I could come! Ya'll have fun.

    Default Pie Thieves

Who me??????? You justa be a sayin that sose you and Leland can slip out the back with 2 forks and a jug of cold milk.LOL:D

Ditto what Stink said regarding the care of your food while bringing it such a long distance. We want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable time at the function.

This group has grown significantly in the past year. The information that has exuded from these pages has educated many people on the fine art of catching crappie and other game fish. I fore one have learned a great deal thanks to Leland, Odie and others. I have learned to laugh more and harder after some of Stinks one liners. I forsee that the ranks will swell further in the coming year and Get Together III will have a few more vendors.

Since we will be coming from a good distance and staying in motel , I will forgo the potato salad and think of something else without mayo and eggs.

OK George...sounds good to me. What kind of dressing you like?

If I bring some crickets and fish eggs and a hammer, you could make your own snack. OK?
