Thread: My best catch ever

I fished saturday and this is the only place that I wont reveal on this site, all other places I dont mind but I just cant this particular spot, but you will appreciate this day. I was fishing 20 ft of water around structure and catching at about 12 to 15 ft, fishing a 1/16 non painted lead head on bottom with a cajun cricket garland and a #2 minnow hook 16" above with red minnows. I caught 34 fish all keepers but 5 of them were freaks. Biggest fish was 17 1/2" and weighed right at 3.0 on my digital scales, second was 17" and weighd 2.14, third was 17" and 2.8, fourth was 16 1/2 and weighed 2.4 and the last was 16" and weighed 2.0. Water temp was 49, this was the most unbelievable day I have ever had, all the big ones bit within an hour and a half. I'm posting pics of them this evening, I just dont know how at the moment. I hope you can respect me not revealing this particular spot, its just one of those things, besides my dad and brother would shoot me if I did. The two biggest ones are going to Terry's and being mounted together on a piece of drift wood, mabe the biggest three. Like I said I will put pics of these on here this evening next to a measuring tape..

Sounds like a new lake record no matter what lake you were on. Almost all the current lake records are under 3#. I hope you got it certified.

Right now there on ice on my front porch, im waiting on a friend of mine to come over and get a peek at these before taking to terry's. I wont get this big fish certified due to publicity. It's not worth it to me to attract pressure to my fishin hole, but I do see your point.

You don't have to give them the specifics if you don't want to. Just the lake and the date. But to each his own.

It's the lake I dont want to give, not so much the specifics.... But what a catch huh, I've never had anything in all of my fishing like it, it was a freak show....
