I know this is a crappie blog site, but figured I'd ask anyways.
Does any one know how spoonbill snagging is going in Grand Lake and the Neosho Rive lately? Are they mainly around Sailboat bridge or are the migrating up river?
Thanks.
I don't know but I have a trip planned for March 20 & 21. I hope there are in the upper lake not quite in the river by then, but I think that all depends on the amount of rain. I thought i saw someone on the Kansas board with some pictures of Spoonbill on Grand i don't remember the date tho.

ODWC staff is in position at twin bridges to collect your spoonbills. The fish are concentrated between Sailboat bridge and some bluffs a couple of miles above the bridge. I will get nightly reports on the spoonbills until Saturday when my friend rotates out. Yes anglers are snagging some spoonies. Walleye netting starts next week and runs for several weeks.
The water temp above Sailboat Bridge has climbed to 45, up from 39 on Sunday. The spoonbill are between the bridge and the bluffs just up river. The fish are primarily males in the 20# range. A few females are starting to show up. Tomorrow is a C&R day. The largest female today was 64#. There are very few anglers fishing for spoonbill. This will be the last report on spoonies as I will be out of town for the weekend.
Bottom line - the fish are sssslllllllllooooooowwwwwllly moving up and nothing is concentrated. Its too soon.
A buddy and I are going to be in branson, mo the first weekend in april. Is there any good snagging places for spoons around there?
