Default Help with fishing Thunderbird in a 2-man

I have never fished at Thunderbird, but would like to go this Saturday & catch some crappie. We only have a 2-man boat with a 5hp motor. Any advice on where to go would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I think its still a couple weeks early for this (since this was such a cold Winter), but it'd take it up Little River (launch at North Sentinel) and use a 10-12 ft rod to jig along the banks. It'd get you out of the wind, which will be the biggest thing this Sat with winds >20. You'll probably need a trolling motor to do that though. That was my plan for this weekend, but I have to work.
Jeremiah 16:16a "But now I will send for many fishermen," declares the Lord, "and they will catch them."

if you have no luck in the creeks....you can always put in at little river and fish the marina with a long pole around the boats

you could tie up under the bridge...i like to tie up then get out and walk around on the old bridge piers and on the steel frame to jig in between the under water wall and steel frame...always a few in there

I would choose clear bay and fish the north side of the first bay south of the boat ramp. If it is very still go straight across from the ramp west and fish that bank all the way south till you see the standing trees out from the west bank.. If you have a fish locator, watch very closely for small brush piles after you get south of the small bay area on the west bank. I know several bass fisherman put christmas trees along there and they also attract crappie. Don't worry about depth, just structure, I catch them all winter in 8 - 10 ft. of water. good luck

oufan....looks like too much wind for a two man unless you can put directly into the cove or stay around the marinas...good luck!!!!
