    Default need some help

I may get the chance to do a little fishing this weekend. I know almost nothing about crappie fishing. What are the best types and colors of lures to use?

My favorites are Bobby Garland baby shads and yum beaver tails. I like blk/char, pump/char, electric chicken, and cajun cricket.

I love the garlands that Odie mentioned in the above post, another soft plastic to keep on hand is Charlie Brewer's slider grubs in the 1 1/2" size, there are many color selections but my favorite would be the watermelon with chartruse tail, I dont believe academy carries them you'll have to go to bass pro, if your at bass pro also pick up some 2" Squirmin Squirt in the LIMEGRN/CHT BLU SP it an all around good jig in a variety of water also always keep some red/chartruse and black/chartruse, blue and white and red and white handy. Get plenty of 1/16 and 1/8 oz leadheads and a good color would be red or chartruse, you can actually pick of a variety pack in each size that will have a selection of colors.. I hope this helps you get started a little.. Also stay with 6 or 8 mabe even 10 lb test. I believe you'll catch more fish is you can get away with using the lighter lines.. I prefer 6 if you can get away with it.
