My wife is going south for a work convention and I am dragging my boat along to do a little fishing. I am looking for a good lake west of the Dallas area to fish next week....Anyone got any ideas??....Thanks
Ray Roberts, north of Dallas was good when I worked down there a few years ago. Caught some really nice ones there. Guy Skinner is a guide down that way. His web site
Texas Crappie Fishing Guide
has quite a bit of info.

I second lake ray roberts....one of my favorite texas lakes
Some of the biggest crappie I ever caught were from Ray Roberts. Lots of brushpiles and flooded timber.
not sure wether lake conroe in conroe tx is central tx but i've caught some real nice crappie in peach creek in lake conroe.

wow...you guy are so awesome....i have heard lots of good things about ray roberts...ill keep it in mind....anyone know about lake arrowhead?????
Lake Lavon is a great winter time hot spot for those Texas boys. Wally Marshall, Paul O'beir, and Jerry Hancock have all filmed shows on winter time spider-rigging. You can watch them on You-tube. But Ray Roberts is good too from what I hear. EB
thanks eb for the advice...just got on the lavon website and all boat ramps are closed due to flooding....go figure...im leaving tomorrow morning and looks like bad weather all south.....maybe i should change my mind and just go to eufaula!!!!
