Default Anyone know of good crappie lakes in north central Texas?

My wife is going south for a work convention and I am dragging my boat along to do a little fishing. I am looking for a good lake west of the Dallas area to fish next week....Anyone got any ideas??....Thanks

    Default Ray Roberts

Ray Roberts, north of Dallas was good when I worked down there a few years ago. Caught some really nice ones there. Guy Skinner is a guide down that way. His web site
    Texas Crappie Fishing Guide

has quite a bit of info.

Some of the biggest crappie I ever caught were from Ray Roberts. Lots of brushpiles and flooded timber.

    Default Lake Lavon

Lake Lavon is a great winter time hot spot for those Texas boys. Wally Marshall, Paul O'beir, and Jerry Hancock have all filmed shows on winter time spider-rigging. You can watch them on You-tube. But Ray Roberts is good too from what I hear. EB
