It takes 3 days to complete the wrapping / finishing steps on this type of pattern, but no 2 are ever exactly alike!
Here's the 1-2-3 process to building an ergonomic walnut driftwood pistol casting grip. This is mounted on a Fenwick HMG blank for a customer in Midwest City. No casting handle is as accurate and forgiving as these.![]()

Yup, you are right about that LR. Years ago the only thing you seemingly could buy were pistol grips. Then things seemed to change because of the BASSMASTERS starting to use the long handles. Now it is difficult to find a pistol grip. I guess us old f- - -s remember them and still use them. Most of my bass rods are pistol grips.

Hank Parker made a living throwing spinnerbaits with a pistolgrip rod, and he continues to use them.

Leland, you're turning the making of rods into an art form. They are absolutely great looking rods.
Never, never attempt to dry out shad in a $1000 Maytag convection oven......... never!
I have several pistol grip rods and still think they are the best for making accurate casts.
