    Default Fall Spawn?

Anyone care to speculate when this might happen and what needs to be in place for it to occur?

I would guess somewhere down in South America.

    i heard it as,,,

FAUX SPAWN (FAKE Spawn),, looks like their bellies get big but no eggs and they'll never be able ta reproduce from what I have read on that subject,, I'll look & see if I can find the link where I found that a while back.... it has been a discussion topic between Reaper & I on several occassions...

While I have not witnessed a fall spawn of crappie, I have caught many green carp on Lake Fork spawning in the fall, but I believe this is due to the genetics of the fish, since these are Florida, or F1 hybird bass, that come from a region where the temperature stays warm year round. I have also seen this occur in the lakes of Mexico.

Anything is possible, but I suspect the vast majority of crappie in this region spawn only once a year..in the spring, due to their genetics, as well as the vast change in water temperature.
