just gonna paint whats in the water fer now,, we got rain move'n in in a couple of days & this is just the first coat,,got 2 more coats ta go



didnt know what ta do bout the bow,,,just stood back & punted like Georgia is gonna do when they play OK State Cowboys this Sat..

Only difference is, those black eyes that those Bulldogs gonna have after Saturday will eventually heal. Best paint a set of teeth on the underside of the bow! Good looking boat Jake! Gitter done!

Dentist - Why do you paint the bottom black? It seems you paint everything black.

george,, think bout this,, if yer in water 4-6' of water and ya look up what do ya see on the bottom of a all white or whatever color boat ya have...

thats an easy question...
ya see whatever color ya have....

wouldnt it be safe ta say that they see the same thing....

wouldnt it be safe ta say black bottom boat be harder ta see in any water/weather condition.....

explain why,, if ya think different,, I'm open ta listen ta reason....


I hate washing cars, trucks & boats,, so if it gets real dirty,, it gets paint'd black after a good steam clean'n....

Dentist - In clear water and in stained or muddy water I use a black jig. Why? Because the color black has a high contrast in those waters. In stained water or water with low visibility what color jig does Todd Huckabee and others swear by? Black because it is easier for the fish to see. Yes, I know there is pink on the jig too. I use a color selector when I fish unfamiliar water. Why? To see which color has the highest contrast i.e easier for the fish to see. A color selector is not really a "color meter" but a contrast or shade meter which indicates how much light a certain color will reflect. We perceive this to mean which color is easier for the fish to see. For marketing reasons when Dr. Loren Hill, the inventor, had to name the device he had to call it something that the average fisherman would understand and would buy. The name "color selector" was born and is still being marketed and used today. My color selector has black on all three bands.
When I use slip corks or bobbers with jigs or minnows I use black because it does not disappear when there is a reflection or glare on the water like a white and orange or white and chartreuse bobber does. It cuts thru it the glare and is not absorbed or in other words has a higher contrast and is easier to see. If I had 1 color to use in all water colors it would be black.
When I bass fish with topwater baits I throw a black twin propped bait because the noise and the black bait has a better silhouette on the water surface. One of my close family friends who I have known for 31 years is a national lure manufacturer. I have fished all of his baits for 31 years.He manufactures wooden fishing lures for bass, stripers, and other predatory fish. He also makes crappie baits by the millions. You have probably fished his crappie baits and never knew it. He manufactures lures for half a dozen or so national companies. When he and I give fishing seminars on fishing topwater baits, he pushes a dark blue bait and I push black baits. We tease each other on stage and the crowd loves it. Who is right? We both are and we sell twice as many baits because dark baits have a higher contrast in the water and the fish can see them better. Dr Loren Hill knew it when he patented the device. What is one of the primary colors used by guides and fishermen who fish for crappie? Is it not something with black in it? Black and pink, black and charteuse, black and orange, black and blue? Yes, I use other colors too

It is for these reasons I had to ask why you chose to paint the bottom of your boat black.

Ya mean one of these,, I use this dang near every time I go out,, wanna know what the temp is at several depths and write it down in my log book,, in fact I got tired of the case & design'd my dash around it, really dont care if my tack werks but my Color C Lector better werk










I figger if its a lil advantage,, it cood make a difference of invite'n people over fer a fish fry or be'n the one get'n the invitation.....

Black is a color they are not scared of and normally go to it...
Prolly how come all my boat bottoms have been black fer 25yrs also...
