    Default Skiatook 8/22/09

I went to Skiatook on Saturday. I wanted to go to Oologah but I had family camping at Twin Points so that's where I went. I bought a half pound of minnows on the way and I was fishing by 10:00am. We went to the bridge at Bull Creek and fished for about an hour; we caught alot of fish but only put 2 in the livewell. So then we tried dipping some timber in the area and started catching some better fish. We only got to do this for about 45 minutes but we caught 5 nice fish in that time. The crappie on the bridge were deep, 15 to 20 feet deep. On the timber they were around 10 feet. The family is not as hard core as I am and they were wanting to tube and swim so the fishing trip was over.

    Good luck everyone, Robert

No, my next trip (hopefully one evening this week) will be to Oologah. I've been averaging 25 keepers per trip to Oologah so that's what's on my mind. Unless the water levels start acting up due to the rain. Then maybe I'll try it again at Skiatook.
