Default Gauging Intrest in a weekly Tournament Trail in OKC

I have been giving this quite a bit of thought in the recent months. Crappie tournament fishing has been seeing a decline in the sooner state. Next year it is looking like there will only be 1 event in oklahoma.

I have always felt that the best way to build interest in tournament fishing is more grassroots awareness.

That being said, I would like to see what kind of response people here have if there was a weekly tournanment trail in OKC. The tournament would probably be sturctured very similar to the weekly bass trail held at thunderbird currently. So you can use that tournament as a good starting point as to how this tournament would function.

The weekly tournament would be held at Thunderbird, and the year end 2 day classic would be held at a state lake.

Pleave leave your feedback and suggestions. Also, it would be helpful to know if you would be willing to fish it regularly or not. Thanks

I know several over here in Tulsa area that would help and be interested in something over this way but need more than just several boats to show every time the Texas boys have a crappie club format that is working for them down there and getting interest

Airhog I'm fairly new to this site, but have been fishing crappie tournaments for the past few years. I would love to see some local tournaments but I live in Claremore and driving to OKC fishing only Thunderbird doesn't get me super excited. I would be interested in fishing locals if the lakes would vary for ea. tourney. I agree with crappiegeorge other states are doing it and getting pretty good turnouts. There's no reason why we can't do the same. I know a few people myself so keep me posted.

I would be intersted in something like that. I've had thoughts of entering the bass one at T-Bird.

i would definitely be interested in a thunderbird tournament. i also agree with the texas crappie club being a good model for this. they set up non boaters with people who have boats for each tournament. hopefully something like this could be worked out since i dont have a boat. keep us posted on this and hopefully it can get goin.
