Default From the spawn to July?????????

June always seems to be a hard month for me to find crappie. Does anyone else have this problem? If not where are you finding them?

Go to the standing timber, the crappie will be there. I fill my freezer in the summer.

Also hit some shallow stumps early in the morning for a few summertime slabs. Look for shear drops about 22' and find some standing timber, or brush. You should find the crappie about 18'.

I have tried the standing timber in June and didn't have the luck that I have in July. Arcadia and Thunderbird seem to need the water to be 80 degrees or so before they head to the timber.
Reaper- that is one place I havent spent much time is the deep structure

Don't forget early morning shallows around stumps that are close to deep water.
After that sun starts burning down, around 8, they will be deep again. They will come in shallow overnight to feed.

Yeah, can't wait to get a new boat and get it rigged. I did some rigging at Eufaula this spring and just need to try it up here.
