Default Lake Thunderbird - Alameda St. Twin Bridges

I normally fish the west bridge, but I was wondering if anyone has had any success fishing the east bridge? I plan to go out this weekend and fish, and am thinking of fishing over in that area.

If you're in a boat, the fishing is typically just as good at the East bridge as the West. Tends to be a little harder to stay in one spot 'cause it's not easy to tie onto the East bridge support. But the last couple months I haven't done well at the bridges. Stark contrast from last year when we tore 'em up on the bridges. Last Saturday I was still catching them 1-4 feet deep on structure in 3-6 feet of water at T-bird. Bridges were too deep. I spent about 2 hours on the bridges and only caught 2 dinks. Look for stick-ups and blow downs in 4-5 feet of water and you should find fish. Only if it gets real hot in the afternoon should you expect to find them under the bridge.

Probably still not in their summer pattern fully yet. I might have to walk the rocks some instead. I dont have a boat, so that makes it tough on finding places to fish. Thanks

If you have a pole 10 ft or more I'd take it along the rocks. Might can reach some of the fish, esp early. Maybe even use that with waders to reach out a little farther. Otherwise cast a bobber/slip cork set to 2 ft deep and pitch it out to visible structure. Downed trees and stick-ups were the hot spots last weekend. Good luck. -Kid

I fished along the rocks on the south side and under the west bridge. There is a tree that washed up near the shore there. No luck. Got a few nibbles, but I think that the bites I was getting was probably sunfish that were too small to take my minnow

Little Axe river channel runs under the west side of the bridges close to the west shore. This is why the west side is the most productive.

Ive fished the west side of the west bridge and in between the shore and the pilings it seemed to be very shallow. Ive only ever had luck fishing from the east side casting towards the piers, but it can be a challenge to get bait all the way.

I need to get a float tube to fish out of, although the prospect of snakes bothers me.

It's between the two pilings on the west side.
