Thumbs down fish-finder

I have a Eagle fishMark 480 and could use some advise.
1. when to have fish symbols on or off?
2. when looking for crappie when do you look for fish l/o structures?
3. any other advice that may help?

I have a etrex Legend a hand unit and put the inland lakes info. on eufaula lake contour lines are at 7,12,17,22 feet but Oologah is only 18 and 28 ft. which is not close enough. And I must go to my computer to change from eufaula to Oologah which is a problem. "We live and learn"

I enjoy crappie.com a lot, thanks

I have the best graph that you can buy and leave the sysmbols on all the time this time of year the fish are gonna be hanging around wood now at Eufaula they are heading to trees and at the O I am almost certain they are on the wood in the creek mouths and out on the main lake on wood and ledges Dont worry to much in my opinion about contour lines just get out there and find the wood and the fish will be near or tight to it If I can help you in any way just let me know I will do what I can do
