Default Wind storm last night

Already had fishing planned for Wednesday. Throw in a Monday night wind storm, a couple of downed tree limbs, 2 bags of concrete, and you have a couple of condos to add to the lake!! Oklahoma weather...gotta love it!!

Great day on the lake Wednesday. Sunk the 2 condos, caught some fish, and then had a nice little fish fry for dinner. Wish all days were like that!

From what I've been told by the game and fish department and the fisheries department in OKLAHOMA dont get caught putting any thing in the waters of OKLAHOMA unless you want a big fine. You can donate your time and money to them and they will let you put brush piles where they want them. I've had several conversations with these folks over the last year trying to get the approval to put bambo condos in some of the lakes around OKC and keep getting the same darn answers from them. Hope this helps you o your decissions of when and where to put them in. You are only trying to help out the crappie population and I comend you for it. Keep a low profile.

I attended the Wildlife Expo last year at the Lazy E. I signed up for the seminar on electro shocking of the lakes. You get to go to Guthrie City lake and watch how it works, (which I thought was pretty neat and would suggest anyone with any interest at all to go on). There were alot of the game rangers and other Wildlife Dept. people there. I asked them about this and they said, yes , Okla law doesnt allow this, so they couldnt tell me yes go ahead, but they all said, its a vary rare occasion that they see someone taking stuff out to sink and they stop them. Their main concerns are, that you arent using anything that would be harmful to the water environment and it doesnt cause danger to other people using the lake.

On that same note, the program for sinking brush on Oologah is sponsored by the Corp. They do not want the trash, and would probably fine someone who acts like a jerk. But, I know one of the longtimers at the Corp here and he said to go ahead.

Well what it will come down to is that if you go ahead and plnat some codo's great but be prepared to pay a fine if you get caught. No one is going to say they said it was ok to plant these condo's. At least they won't say it was ok in court.

Well guys I have beeen known to throw out a cedar tree or two in the old days. But I just have to express a word of caution for safety.

After seeing some of those condos pictured on the main forum, made of pvc and oak planks embeded in a bucket of concrete. They look like a pitch fork sticking streight up.

Some kid could jump off a boat and hit one of those things

Not trying to be a party pooper just think about it.

Jig,
I thought the same thing when I saw the main forums on condos. Some look pretty effective but also dangerous. Especially the way a lot of these lakes change water levels and a lot of boat activity , skiing, tubing etc. Also the ones using rebar which will take forever to erode.
