Default Highway 9 Landing

I am going to be staying here over the holiday. Are there any decent places to bank fish near here? I see that there is a bridge on piney creek rd a few miles away, is the fishing there any good?

It can be, plus it's usually out of the wind, there's a culvert at #9 landing on the hwy. if you like night fishing that's when the crappie move through it. good fishing!

I figure with the spawn over, the fishing is going to start moving towards deeper water. Hopefully I can have some decent luck

The spawn isn't over. Don't people understand they will probably still be spawning in Late June. There are billions of crappie in Eufala and they all don't spawn at the same time.

Keep in mind the black crappie are more prevalent on this side of the lake, plus they spawn later & deeper than the whites.

Jonboat; You were fishing one of my favorite areas for doodlesocking, it's for sure jungle conditions up there, you need PowerPro line & a stiff rod or you will get whipped!!!

Also good numbers of fish were caught off of I-40 riprap. double minnow rigs about 5'-6' over 10' - 12' of water... Alot of females that were still holding eggs.

Lip -
you aren't kidding...

I had one of the most unbelievable things happen up there. We hit one bush that was about 8' around that we pulled 19 fish out of in 30 minutes. Never would have believed it, but I was there and it happened to me.

Fish holding in the middle of the bush next to the vertical pieces. any kind of chartruese jig worked, but it HAD TO BE TIPPED WITH A MINNOW or they wouldn't even sniff it...
