At least you got the first launch of the season done. We're still waiting for the lake to recede and the ramps to be opened up.

Out Monday morning 5/7/2018 (water temp 62-64 deg.) and didn't do to bad considering boat has fuel issues again and we could only fish close to Blackhawk. I landed 10 , seven were keepers biggest being 12in most were caught 3-4 ft of water close to the pads on minnows with just a small hook . Hope to be back on water when new fuel pump comes in at #Buds Marine in a few days.

This fuel pump issue(2nd pump I replaced) was coused by a bad fuel cap and has been a real pain for the last ten months and a real pain while in Florida. Part has been on order (mercs newest pump ) from #Buds Marine and hope to have it Monday so I can install it along with cleaning the VST so I can hit Brown & Indian when the weather breaks. See you all on the water !!!!

Thanks, we look forward to the update. I have a tournament on Saturday there, I will be pre-fishing on Friday and any information would be helpful.

Water temp 69-71deg along the pads 2-4 ft of water, one keeper crappie and the bite was slow. My neighbor and his son caught 6 saugeye (4 keepers) and one keeper crappie all in open water around one island that has 6+ ft depth close to it and goes to a hump of 2-3 ft of water. Green/yellow or red jig head with a minnow or a #Keitech seamed to work, they said bite was slow as well.

It was a great tournament and the weights for high. I ended up finishing 2nd with a total of 8.74 lbs for 8 fish. 1st place had 9.52. I think it was 8 teams ended up with over 8lbs of fish. Caught my fish early in shallow pads, then had to switch to deeper water once the sun got bright. probably caught over 100 crappie.
