Hey starvin', I am from the EF area as well and fish the EF tournaments. I am glad to see the schedule being posted. Maybe we will get a bigger turnout. I think the changes Mike made will make things more fun and competitive. See ya on the water.

Do you have to have a partner to fish in these tourneys or can you go solo. An Is it $50 a tourney or $50 for the season?
Thanks bubba
"Take Life one fish at a time"
You do not have to have a partner. It definitely helps though. You can use subs, so if you have someone who wants to fish them and can't make them all, that is not a problem. Just give your team name as you and the guy who'll be fishing with you the most, that way you will get credit for fishing all the tournaments. For example, if you are Smith and your usual partner is Jones, fish as Smith/Jones for all of them. If you fish as Smith/Jones for a few, then Smith/Brown, whatever for others, it will be looked at as two seperate teams. You need to fish all 10 to qualify for the championship.

Does anyone know where someone can get a more detailed list of the rules for this tourney and similar ones? Like how many poles per fisher, # of fish per person in livewell, how is the tourney started, distance from other fishers, etc.?
As you can tell, I'm new to the tourney thing but am very interested in getting into them and having some fun, of course the $$ would be an extra bonus!
Thanks in advance...
Not sure that there is another list, but you are allowed 2 poles per person, 3 hooks per line as Ohio regulates. You weigh 7 fish, so that is the number you can have in the well when you take out. A lot of the guys sort their well out while their partner goes up to get in line to get the boat out, so you can have more in ther up until weigh in. At least I have never been told different. There are circuits that allow a maximum number of crappie in the well at any time during the day, so check that out with any other tournaments you fish. I know the Buckeye Crappie Challenge is that way. Basically, to start the tourney, everyone has to stop by at The Boars Head usually around an hour before start time to sign in and pay the entry fee. Then you can go to the Afton ramp across the street and put in. When you sign in, you draw a number. this becomes your launch number. All the boats wait in a staging area to the right of the ramp. At launch time, they use a megaphone to announce boat 1 go, boat 2 go, and so on. The distance from other boats as far as I know is just a common courtesy deal. I don't know of any atual written rule for it. I hope that helps. They are a good time. You should try to make it out for a few.

The boat distance is a courtesy thing unless 1 of the boats is anchored or tied up, then it is 50 feet. Also you are not supposed to have more then 7 fish in your livewell, cull as you go.
I thought I would update this post for anyone that didn't see the schedule for this year and needed info on the tournaments.
bad news boat won't be ready in time maybe next year
Pull my Finger NOT my Leg!!!
