    Default Acton action

Has the crappie schooled up yet? If hunting goes as planned....I'll be heading to that lake Tuesday.

I haven't seen or heard anything about the how the bite is going on
with Acton lake. I'm thinking the warm weather might flip things around
a little one way, or the other. With the thick murkey water that is usually
present at Acton - the funny thing is I've caught my biggest crappie mid
day this year, and I would think the way the weather has been, heck fish
the warmer part of the day and enjoy the weather!

    Cya, and be carefull!

    Default Too late

We took the boat out one last time this year on Saturday afternoon. Water temp is 43, water clear. The scope showed widely scattered fish at all depths, which is pretty typical after turnover. Doug caught a small bass, but that was it. Saw a guy catch a tiny bluegill off the Sugar Camp pier.
We'll probably shore fish for trout some at Rush Run yet, but we're pretty much done til ice up. - Roberta

    Default creek channel

The map shows a creek channel that runs from one end to the other. Is there a decent channel....or is it silted in like a bowl? are there any drop offs along the channel?
    Thanks for any info.

Once you get past the old cabin beach, the channel drops off and runs pretty straight along the east side of the lake to the dam. It's over 20 feet deep at the lodge and goes to 30 or better at the dam. The deepest part of the channel is maybe thirty feet from shore.
We got tired of fighting the wind or we would have worked the channel farther down the lake than we did in hopes of finding saugeye. We'll probably hike the creekbed and fish below the dam this winter after deer gun season.
    Good luck. - Roberta
