You guessed it, I've been hunting. I haven't been fishing since September.

A friend of mine has great property in Indiana and talked me into hunting with him on Sundays. I also hunt in Ohio with another friend on Saturdays. Plus I've been hunting 1 night during the week after work. I get up everyday at 4:00am and it's about killing me but I'm having a blast. I've passed up a decent 8 point and some other munchin bucks but I did take 1 doe to put some meat in the freezer. My best opportunities at a big buck so far have been with my truck but the ruts around the corner maybe I can get 1 in my bow sights then. I did see a really nice buck Saturday evening in Ohio he went right under 1 of my stand trees but the wind was awful so I stayed out of that stand. He better not show himself there this weekend!

It's hard to believe that summer is over, it went fast. I had a great year but I was hoping to make a few more trips to try those Indiana Creeks that Tbone talked about. Maybe next year. I am going to try and take a break from hunting around Thanksgiving and give the crappies a try but that's a month away.
I became a grandpa again (#4) on the 16th, it was my sons first. A beutiful little girl, Sofia.

Hey Y-Slabs, did you get a new boat?

I hope everyone is doing good.

Yeah, congrats crappiemax. Y-SLAB, we've been out, we just don't want to share our info with ya.:D Ya can't troll the places I've been getting them anyway, so the info wouldn't help you much anyway. The only trees I've been in have been covered with water. Been lookin' for Porky PIG, not Bullwinkle. John and I were out for a few hours Sunday morning and did pretty well early at East Fork. It seemed like they quit once the fog burned off and the sun got bright, but they started pulling the lake hard again too, which didn't help. We caught about 20-25 before 10 am. Most were around 9", but we had 6 or 7 over 10". The biggest was a thick 13" black. The whites are really getting some shoulders finally. Most of the better fish were 4-6 feet deep in 12 feet of water, with a few coming deeper. Nothing shallower. Minnows, of course.

jeepguyjames, get with Tbone about Tanners/Hogan. He fishes them a lot. Hopefully I'll get there soon myself. Getting tired of hearing how good it is. Gotta see for myslef.

    Hey James
the water was pretty nasty in Tanners last weekend when we crossed it, of course it will stabilize and get better if we don't get a bunch of rain this weekend.
