Lake Erie Crappie
Hi Guys,
Just wanted to let everyone know that the crappies ARE ON at Lake Erie. Went up and fished Sunday afternoon and Monday morning. Sunday was real good. Monday was a little slower due to cold front and rain.
Fish the docks in any of the marinas. Fish were caught between 1-4ft. deep. Best jigs were Southern Pro Sparkle tubes (red/chart) and when the front came in, Stingers worked the best. Black/chart, white/chart. and blue/white worked the best.
You will catch a lot of small fish, but many nice ones too. Most average between 10-12, with an occasional bigger one. All white crappie.
Hope this helps!

Did you jig for them russ, or use a jig under a cork like the one video?
The marina I've been fishing I've only caught black crappie since labor day. Caught real nice white and black crappies on labor day but since then only black crappie, which is ok cause they are beutiful looking fish. But would like a few more fish than what I've been catching.

I'm hoping to get up this weekend for some perch fishing, but will hit some docks in West Harbor before we head out and see what I find. Thanks for the heads up.

We were fishing under the small corks that I like to use. You shouldn't have any problems catching them!

I just found the link to your site and started watching the shows. Theyre awesome, there is nothing like watching first hand to learn how to do something right. I have since watched almost every episode and love em' all. Between your show and In'Fisherman I can stay busy this winter with a lil fishing thrown in.
Thanks,:D

Hey Russ glad to hear you have some new shows coming out . I was wondering if you ever did any shows on tidal water crappie fishing. We do a lot of tidal crappie fishing here on the delmarva peninsula and all around the Chesapeake bay region. Love the shows keep em coming.
