    Default Saugeyes

How many of you out there also fish for saugeyes. I KNOW this is our crappie site. but just wondering since it is time to start filling the freezers with eye filets.

I love eyes. I usually fish for them at Cowan lake. I caught 2 really nice ones this summer. Have not caught any in a few weeks. Looking foward to catching some when it cools off....:D

We have some Saugeye here on the Tn river below Pickwick Dam in Tn. I enjoy fishing for Sauger and Saugeye both.
But its going to be at lease one more month for us before they start bitting better.
So I,m tying jigs in advance for it.

I like to get out a couple of times a year at the Ohio River.

My problem is I have a hard time giving up the tree stand for a fishing rod. It used to be only a handful of folks would fish below the dams in winter now, some days there are too many people.
I've been having such a good time with the crappie, I just hit the lakes instead.

To fish in the river current here. Would love to find out where they are at in the summer time here. We only catch them in the winter time here.

I fish for them, but that's not to say I catch a lot of them.

    Hi.
    I'm like Mr. RockBass.

I fish for'em, and if I catch one or two out of Acton lake, I'm happy!

I spent most of the summer working on learning to troll for 'em like the
Indian Lake guys do... If not trolling cranks, I tie into them when casting
    RR's for Crappie.

    PS.
Wife was leaving for work this morning. Heck, I have to much fish in
the freezer... So as she was leaving this morning, I was eating beer
batter Crappie, and Saugeye for breakfast! Yum!

I have just started fishing for them a couple weeks ago. Haven't hit but about 6 good ones. As the water cools they will really be turning on. Right now a 1/4 jighead w/ nothing but a small piece of night crawler. Later chubs will do it. But my fav bait is a Vibe', it is similar to a Sonar but thinner.Verticle is the way to go for saugeyes but drifter worm harnesses is my 2nd most fav.

I'm gonna try to target Saugeye this fall along with the Crappie. I'm new to boatin for crappie and saugeye, so I'm going to try to do what I can before drawdown.

I still like hittin piedmont ever since I met up with you out there bttmline. As soon as my boat is running, I'll be out after craps and saugeye.
