Thread: Fletchers Friday

We are headed up north to Fletchers Pond Fri A.M. ,be back Tue ,hoping to get some crappie perch and pike ,James it maybe a little farther than you want to go ,but I will post a report when i get back ,
I plan to start hitting the usual spots Cowan ,Paint ,and RF when I get back

Be interested in how you do; I called a place up there and asked them about the average size of the panfish. The crappie and bluefill average lengths weren't too impressive.

where is fletchers? havent heard of it.

Jon was up for the icefishing this past winter and did very good on crappies and perch also got 6 nice size pike.Hope 2 go up @ the end of the month be4 the ice is on.LOL! Let us know how u did up there.

Its near Hillman Michigan ,northeast part of the state ,Known for good pike and bass fishing ,with decent crappie and perch as well .From what I have read there is alot of great fishing up there ,lots of small lakes and rivers .Fletchers is 9000 acres ,also Thunder Bay River is right there ,I guess you can catch salmon and trout closer to
Lake Huron which is about a half hour from Fletchers .

We fished 3 days at Fletchers ,Water temp 65deg.The 1st day fished the north end ,1 pike
Several bass .The next day we went down south of Jacks Landing did really good .11 pike a few bass 1 over 5 lbs ..the next day rain 1 pike 2 bass .The pke were all 22 –30 inch ,most bass were about 2 lbs.Some of the pike had sores on there side from something . we never really panfished ,Lost 2 pike had several follows on the rainy day .Its so cool to seem them in the clear water .The gps was very helpful getting through the stumps ,once you made it follow your trail back .
Good places to eat : Jacks Landing ,RV park in Hillman
Best Lure :white spinnerbait , rubber worm for bass .
All fish were released
Wild Bills baitshop very helpful.
Very good trip,would like to do some stream fishing next time .
Fletchers landing I would NOT recommend = nasty .
