    Default I'm sick of summer!

I've had enough of this warm water stuff. I say let's skip September and get started on the fall/winter bite again. I was recording some stuff in my log book tonight and glanced back to last summer. On the way there I came across November and December of this past winter:

It was ON FIRE!!! Water temp in the back was the warmest we saw all day at 41F. We caught 50 plus BIG slabs just pitching minnows and floats from stick up to stick up, 1.5’-3’ deep. Of the 22 we kept, only 2 fish were 10”, the rest were 12”-14”, mostly big blacks. The best 7 fish were 2-14” and 5-13”, weighing in at 8 pounds. Almost all the fish we threw back were 10” or better. The biggest was a big 14”/ 1.75 pound PIG black crappie. All of them came out of water 3.5’-8’ deep.

I cut out where it was, but a lot of us know where anyway. I wish it were that way right now. This deep jig or slip floatin' is not my game. See you all on the water.

Kind of sounds like you didn't catch much today either, huh.

    I'm counting on you tomorrow.

Surprisingly, I've been catching fish during the summer months, but the cooler weather would sure make it nice. It's not much fun to me sitting in a boat sweating.

yea speck i had a day last nov (amongst several others)...day before thanks giving come to think of it that i just destroyed them, im pretty sure in that same on fire area i caught countless 10 to 14 inchers and even had one that measured just a hair over 15 inches, im ready for that bite to turn on also, that was a ball. but i kinda like the summer time trolling we have been doing also, plus it nice to fish in shorts and flip flops.

Yeah James we were there that day too. Much the same, but in a different "on fire" area than the one I was talking about. It was enough to spoil a man for sure. Trouble is, the lake will be normal winter pool this year, so it won't be like fishing in a bath tub like it was with the lake down:D.

yea i would say the low levels and only have halfe the water to cover didnt hurt........but still ready for that fall pattern to setup, although this has been a nice mild summer so im not in to big of a hurry, it will be here before we know it.
