Thread: MCC Arkabutla Tournament CHANGE

We (MCC) were contacted this morning by the Corp. of Engineers regarding our upcoming Arkabutla tournament. We were informed the lake level was very low and about to be dropped two more feet for dredging projects. Unfortunately we have no choice but to move the tournament. We looked into several options but with the short notice permits are hard to obtain. We will have to move the tournament to Ross Barnett. We hope to hit this fine fishery next season! When its this tourney? I know it's like 35 to join, plus 15 for insurance and then the rez tourneys are 5 bucks more at 95 cause of a RB tourney fee. Ya'll are on points right? Then you have to fish so many tourneys or have so many points to fish the championship. right?

The tournament is March 6th. Anybody joining the club now has missed the opportunity to qualify for post season payouts (championship and points). Yes club membership is 50 a person and that covers insurance and membership. The tournament cost is $90 a boat even at the Rez as the permit fee was lifted.

I'll see what I have going on that weekend. MY daughter is getting married in a couple months and we have a couple of get togethers planned to PLAN this thing

This sucks. Was looking forward to something I didn't have to drive 2 hours to get to....Oh well, guess Grenada is in a month or so. The Corp wouldn't let you swap your enid and butla dates? Enid has plenty of water....Butla should be good by May?

May and early June should be good on Butla and some places on the lake area...March and April.

It is very rare for MCC to change or cancel a tournament. Until this year I can only think of one other time we made a change to the schedule and it was due to high water. The board decided not to swap the tournament with a later date because who knows what will happen in a month or two. This way we are only making one change. If for some reason the lake didn't come up in the next month we would be forced to make another change. There is allot that goes into scheduling a tournament! I hate it to as I was looking forward to fishing Arkabutla
