A'ite, here they are. They're not final and I'm open to adding and subtracting, but I'm not gonna run any polls on it this go around. If somebody makes a suggestion that makes sense, I'll put it in there.
Here's the highlights of what's new:
1) 7 Tournaments + a championship (1 single pole T)
2) Entry fees are $40 + $10 big fish with $5 going to the championship. Still paying 1 place for 5 boats and championship will be winner take all again.
3) Open to anyone and everyone.
4) No door prize requirement this year (not many kids actually fished and I felt squimish just collecting prizes for my kids only) If I get wind that a particular FJ might have a good turn out of kids - like last year's Sardis and Enid, we might run it for that particular T, as a request, but not as a requirement.
5) Torch's official title has been changed.
Here's the rules:
MS Crappie.Com Fruit Jar Series Rules
2010
Interpretation and enforcement of these rules shall be left exclusively to the Tournament Committee. It is the Tournament Committee’s discretion to make a change where safety of the contestants is a concern. In the event of a rule violation, they may impose such sanctions, as they deem appropriate, including, without limitation, disqualification, forfeiture of prizes, entry fee, and prohibition from participation in subsequent tournaments. All Federal, State, and local laws must be obeyed and it is the contestant’s responsibility to know these laws.
1) Eligible participants. Participation in the C.C FJ Series is open to any one. There is no qualification to be registered on C.C. Children and grandkids are welcome and encouraged!
2) Alcohol and safety equipment. No alcohol may be consumed during or preceeding tournament hours. Life jackets must be worn at all times while under way and on plane. All safety equipment required by law enforcement must be in the boat at all times.
3) Partners. – The only limit on the number of people allowed in each boat is that of the stated capacity of the boat. i. e. It is allowable to have 4 or more fishermen per boat in the case of a pontoon boat.
4) Winners and Ties. Winning weights will be determined by the heaviest 7 fish of legal size. In the event of a tie, the heaviest fish will break the tie, 2nd heaviest and so on until the tie is broken. Fish do not have to be alive to be weighed.
5) Cancellation/Delay. In the case of extreme weather and/or water conditions, tournament officials reserve the right to postpone or cancel the event. In which case, all entry fees will be returned to the participants.
6) Tournament hours and ramps. Tournament fishing hours will be from 6:30 until 1:30 (7 hours of fishing time), although the actual start and stop time may vary slightly with the changing sunrise throughout the year. All participants will register at a designated ramp and are then free to proceed to their fishing locations and await the official “start fishing time”. Participants are allowed to trailer to alternative ramps as well. Participants must stop fishing at 1:30 (or the time designated) and be at the weigh in ramp no later than 2:00 (or the time designated) for the weigh in. Anyone arriving after 2:00 (or the designated time) will be disqualified.
7) Entry Fees. Entry fees will be $40 plus an optional $10 big fish pot per boat. $5 of each participant’s entry fees will be withheld and carried forward to the championship pot. Payouts will be 1 place for every 5 boats entered in each tournament. The Championship payout will be 100% for 1st place.
8) Tournament Series. Series will consist of 7 Tournaments and 1 Championship. Lakes will be Grenada, Enid, Sardis, Arkabutla, Washington and Ross Barnett. Dates will be chosen separately and the lake master (Bigger) will match the dates to each lake. The Championship lake will be chosen at a later date at the Lake Master’s discretion, but is not limited to the lakes we’ve already fished. One of these tournaments will be a single pole, artificial only tournament. On all tournaments, wading is allowed but you must remain within site of your partner and your boat at all times. If you do wade, you must wear a life jacket at all times.
9) Championship qualification. To qualify for the championship, participants must fish at least 3 regular FJ tournaments. If a team places in a regular FJ tournament, their entry fee is waived for the championship. In the event a team disbands prior to the championship, that team must designate 1 person to receive the waiver of the championship entry fee.
10) Tournament Officials will be the following:
11) Pole limits - Even though many partners are allowed in the boat, the pole limit is equal to 2 times the limit on the lake. For Example, Grenada would be a max of 6, Enid would be a max of 10. For those lakes without a pole limit, the restriction does not apply.
Lake Master – Biggerjigger - he will be responsible for picking the lake we fish for each tournament. In addition, it is his call to delay or reschedule the tournament due to inclement weather.
Weighmaster – Satdoc – He will be responsible for certifying the weights at each tournament. He is allowed to designate anyone he sees fit to help with the weigh in. In the event that he can’t be at a tournament, he will designate a stand in prior to it. In the event of a tied weight, the winner will be chosen by the single largest fish in the 7 fish limit, second largest and so on.
Tournament Director – Me….Wannabe – I will keep up with the official weights, records and hold the dollars.
Supreme Commander and Official Enema Taster– Torch – He will be responsible for keeping the official time, setting the time to be back for weigh in and assessing any late penalties. In addition, should any dispute arise, whatever ruling he hands down will stand with no appeal. In other words, whatever he says goes. In the event that he can not be there, he will designate a replacement prior to the tournament.

A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.
It's not fair letting a pontoon boat full of folks only pay one $40 entry fee. A 15 person boat could pull or push 75 crankbaits all day against my 10 poles for the same $40 entry fee.

True that Yikes, but truth be told, we only had 3 boats all year with more than 2 in it (not counting me and the 2 boys). One was a pontoon with 3, the other was Tlow's brother on a pontoon with 2 kids. I'm only leaving that in there in case there's a fella out there that likes to fish on a pontoon with a buddy and maybe both their wives. Or to be able to take their wife and kids with them. True, they carry a slight advantage, but most days the pontoon would be a disadvantage. I seriously doubt someone would load a boat with 10 Kent Driskolls and a Satdoc for a driver/sandwhich maker and clean our clocks.

Only Rule That Will Be Changed So Far Is The People Per Boat . Can Have As Many As Boat Will Carry But Can Only Fish With The Poles Required For The Lake X2. This Will Keep It Fair To All.

A'ite, I guess that'll work. Heck, I know I don't want any part of trying to run 15 poles with me and the be's in the boat. Then again, I didn't mind running 8 when spider rigging on Grenada, but cut my self off at 6 with cranks.

with you trying to run more than 6 poles pulling cranks. Be something I could sell with all the cussing and fussing you'd be doing after they all got tangled

Just a suggestion, but you might want to post what the penalty is for a late weigh. Example: 8oz deduction, ect. for up to 10 minutes late, 10oz for 10-20minutes late ect.
