It got about 10 degrees cooler here for a half hour or so, it's back with a vengeance now. Me and a buddy watched it from the shop, we was using welding googles as primary protection and a welding helmet as the secondary optical viewing device, how redneck is that?

My buddy did get this with his cell phone camera. The clouds blocked out the rays enough to snap the shot, sun about half visible by then.

We were anchored just off shore south of Hwy 68 bridge. We had a beautiful, cloudless viewpoint. The temp was noticeably different for a couple of minutes but the lake got slick as glass. Didn't see any earth-shattering changes except in my bank account.

We took both boats to Little Jonathan and beached them. We had a beautiful vantage point, safe travels going out and coming back in. Family had fun and that's all that matters. The wind completely died as it reached totality, and critter activity diminished.
Ready to get back to fishing!
