That's the exact reason my words to clients right after they get a fish to the net I say "Good Job!" then the next words are "Free Spool!" I keep a medium size pair of side cutters in one of my rod tubes on the center console and show every group where they are and what they are for. They are big enough to cut the SHANK of any crank hook I've found. I figure MY chances of getting hooked at 10X the chances a client will. So far that is correct.

BIGBADDAD had a steel shad treble in his ankle with a 10 pound blue cat flopping around and no side cutters. The pic of that before he went to the hospital was all I needed.

It could happen to any of us. Great idea and I'm definitely putting something together for my boat.

    Way to go Charlie.
My first aid kit use to sit in the console out of the sun, but not out of the heat. I got to use it on a fellow fisherman a few years ago. The small packs of antibiotic ointment were almost dry after sitting in the boat for 4 years unused or checked. It now gets checked every few months and items replaced.
