Ok, getting location straight. Sunset Marina and campground is across the hwy from Goshen Springs campground and Tommy's. Tommy's looks like a built on restaurant and service station. The land behind it looks like a gravel parking lot, overflow ramp parking, I guess.
Ramps, if the pier wasn't in the center of the one closest to the hwy 3 boats might could be launched. The center ramp might could crowd 3 boats. Looks tight on the third, wouldn't try to launch over 2.
Shade, bet they'll be a thread about boat umbrellas or cooling device on boats before the summer's out. AC units run better in the shade or overcast days. A canopy under the trees is cooler than one out in the sun.

I think you have it about straight. The gravels lot is ramp over flow. Most ramps hold two boats with plenty of space and maybe three if everyone is strong on the back down game. I have never been there when it was necessary to do so though and I go there quite often. The floating docks ring the inlet and offer plenty of room to spread boats out when launching the boat or retrieving your vehicle. Tommy's is a privately owned supplies/bait shop/limited grocerys/snacks/non ethanol gas and restaurant and has been there for quite a long time. It's a local landmark. Been around much longer than the campground I think.

I knocked up this map real quick in case I don't explain it clear enough.

PS, I was just looking at Umbrella mounts for my boat yesterday! Hahaha

I've stayed at Goshen Springs campground several times. It is an excellent facility, only complaint being some of the sites are a little jammed up. It's drive up only-no reservations. Sometimes it's pretty full in the spring but thinking it should be better towards the end of April. No way to really know until that time comes

Dang, I was ready to make my reservation. I'll read the site rules again.

It's not actually listed in the rules but he is correct. I am currently working with my contacts in the Pearl River Valley Water Supply District about this. I should hopefully have it sorted out by weeks end. As it stands, normally there are very few reservable spots but I have been told, much as boatbottom said, the end of April should not be full.

I don't know the age of this photo.
Looking at gosur, my house was updated on the first of Dec. Don't know when it was updated at Goshen too.
Entering the campground, the loop to the left, sites/campers can't be seen through the trees. The first loop to the right, I can barely make out some of the sites and campers.
At Sunset Marina it shows a few mobile homes in the loop, the pads look old. The campers are on new pads between the road and water. On their website link you posted, the new construction is inside the loop, not showing on gosur yet.

Judging by the work they are doing on the ramp at the Landing in this photo, I'm thinking this satellite photo is a couple years old. That work has been done for quite some time I believe.

I called 601 829 2751 Goshen Springs campground. The lady said sites are first come. Can call back close to time to see how things look. Guess I'll go in blind and hope for a shady site. I figure a 3 + hour drive with stops. We may come down thursday. Do a little sitesighting, shooting or fishing friday before we meet up with others.
I hope you can get some changes through Pearl River Valley Water Supply District.

Would love to make it. But Marilyn's dad passed away about that time last year.(Stroke April 20th and passed away the 23) And she does not want to be far from her mom. so were staying home the end of April. We were in East Tn last year, when we got the call. He had a stroke. And we always go somewhere around the 20th. But this year guess were at home. It was a bad way to start our 22 Anniversary that day. Her mom is 86 and about to grieve her self to death. So its been hard on Marilyn.
Enjoy and catch lots of fish.
    Pete

I sent a message to Tommy's Trading Post asking if they had any campsites. Here is the reply, We have a few cabins available for nightly rental . Call 601-859-5571 for cabin rental. Renee will help you.
