My child had to do a mock campaign speach and posters etc. for presidential candidates in her class this year (5th grade). She is a big fan of Obama but really doesn't have the firmest grasp on why, it's kind of a rock star thing I guess. None of that matters to the story. She said that her teacher (white male) split the room in two as far as who did which candidates and it was completely black vs. white. She said " daddy I dont want to do mccain but all the white kids had to." this seemed a little wierd to me but I feel it's the exact thing mentioned here but from another angle. She did her project and got an A by doing her project on powerpoint with slide shows and such but I couldn't answer her as to why the teacher went this route. It's almost like the teacher didn't want to cause any stirs at home by sending home the wrong assignment.

Who are the others cuz I'd hate to think yur talkin to anyone who doesnt see it the same as you? That seems like an awfully narrowminded perspective to put on things, as if you have the magic key and are the all-knowing, all-seeing, Chosen One of Wisdom.

Well clearly the class room of some children of this age is no place for this kind of treatment of our children. Clearly there needs to be some more legislation passed. OH WAIT. That wont work cause they never enforce legislation anywho. lol

YES- it is entirely possible to be nutty, left, and a public school teacher: left wing nut. Just like separatist right wing nuts who live in mountain enclaves evading the government.

Not that its anyones biz but I didnt vote as I didnt see where either candidate was someone I felt would lead our nation capably. No new colors.

Do you feel because you stand firm by your beliefs that others are for some reason going to back down from theirs because of it? Not me. You had your say I'll have mine, aint gotta be no animosity.
I am not one to get so het up about my Constitutional Rights and Freedom of Speech that I confuse it with being able to say whatever I please on here. I think the site owner and mods have made it clear whose rules go on this site and am ok with that.
I guess what it all boils down to is what I said initially- I don't much cotton to the left-wing nuts thing. Yur seeking refuge behind the teacher now and nuts is plural. I'd hate to think of living with myself for even a minute thinking I might be the other one since you perceive me as an Obama backer. As far as I can tell from yur post there is only 1 teacher so I wanted to make sure.
There are alotta right-wing folks on here that I get along with fine but disagree with the content of their posts. I would never be so presumptive as to think I had the right to repeatedly throw disparaging comments out there in their direction just because our viewpoints differ. "So that ye sow, so shall ye reap" comes from a book you say you put stock in so you should surely be able to understand the mechanics of that kind of thinking.
I am the same person I have been for 52 yrs, aint nuthin changed cuz Obama got elected. I abhor the very thought of anyone perceiving me as so shallow that an election would change my whole persona. I AM glad he got elected for one particular reason (at the moment & pending how he acts in office). I
think racism absolutely sucks and it speaks well for us as a nation that this hurdle has been leapt. I grew up thinking I was predjudice, never met or spoke to a black person til I was 17 and went to boot camp at Ft Jackson.
Thankfully somewhere and some time ago I was able to overcome it. I think it was when I decided to become my own man. Too bad it didnt come sooner but thank God it came at all. I say this for all the world to see and dont care one iota if it causes loss of friends, opinions of me, etc..., it is pretty plain to see that none of us designed our own birth therefore we came into this world on the lottery system regarding what color, who our parents are, what country........who am I to judge someone else?

shoer I can relate. Theres deffinately an air of right and wrong from a couple of these boys that cant go unspoken if left up to them. Apparently theres only one correct interpretation of the rules of life. I aspire to understand these riddles as well as those folks and hang on their every word.

$50 to the man/woman who can point out where I laid down a personal attack on anyone in this OT forum. I don't do that, and I try to stay away from generalizations like calling all democrats idiots. I don't and haven't. I did point out that SOME teachers are frequently in the left wing nut job category and for some reason that was misconstrued as being something it wasn't.

I've been behaved well enough and have only remarked on the obvious or the news, and I even spoke on behalf of John H who suffered brutal attacks. For that somehow a mud flinging fest came my way today. I will make no apologies for anything. It seems the new tone now is if you are in disagreement you will pay dearly no matter how wrong other parties are. Gonna go over well with more than just me. Please don't PM me or post another reply because I won't read it anyway.
