Maybe the fleas came in on that bear you keep on the front of your boat.

Put a candle in a pie plate with a little water in it in a dark room. The fleas will jump toward the light and drown in the water. This will work.....

I had a house years ago in the country that became flea infested. The "pie plate" trick works only to a point. You will catch a lot of fleas that way. A bit of dawn dishwashing soap in the water helps. And use the plate under a night light, avoid a possible fire. But, the seven dust will do it long term. You just need to give it time to work. But the best thing I have ever used was table salt. I currently have a add on game room that has separate heat and air from the rest of the house. Just last summer, while not using that room for other than storage, and no need to run the air conditioner, the carpet in there became infested with fleas from my daughters cat. I sprinkled regular table salt heavy throughout the room. I found the table salt trick while doing an online search and tried it. To my surprise, it took a month, but all fleas were dead, all that hatched died. The salt dehydrates them and they die! For immediate relief, pick up a can of rid-a-bug, flea and tick killer, room and pet spray for an instant kill of what's currently living. It works really good on ants as well. It can be found at Dollar General.

Go to your local vet and get "Knock Out" spray. It cost's about $15-20 dollars and will take care of two 8 ft rooms. It really works, but don't spray it on pets, get them flea dipped.

Best thing there is, is Malathion(sp). Mix with water, spray on and leave the house.
Used it many times with great results. It can be found at most feed stores.
The down side is, it leaves a sent for a couple of days.

My bassetthound was a flea magnet because her fur was so thick. You have to treat the entire house every couple of days to get rid of them. This will kill the new hatchlings before they can breed. And you have to do the same to the animals you keep inside. I used Adams fleas spray from the vet and misted it over the whole house every two days for about two weeks. Then ran the vac the days in between.

We had fles as well. We sprinkled borax (20 team) in all the rooms carpet floors every where and it worked! I bet it cost 2 dollars. The borax dries the flea's fuids and kills them and their eggs!

Wished I would have known this last year this time. We had them bad. Couldnt walk through the yard without your legs turning black with fleas in the grass, and of course they carried over into the house.
