Default "You're Welcome"

This phrase is hardly used anymore. I can't understand why most people won't even say this. All I hear is when someone says "Thank You" the person responds by saying "Thank You" back to them instead of saying "You're Welcome". If you think I am wrong pay attention when you are watching the news, or an interview on a sports channel, or just in line at a grocery store. I am starting to think a lot of people don't even know that when someone says "Thank You" to you the correct response should be "You're Welcome".

Just a little pet peave of mine. Thank You! for listening.

You're welcome Jim, I fully agree with you. People need to slow down and so call smell the roses.

Common courtesy has left the building. Sad, but true. It took personal responsibility with it along with common sense.

All honor and respect left the building with God.

I'm not tryin to stir the doodoo pot, but, i dont get it? Take for instance, a sporting interview Thank You Mr Ducksworth (meaning ty for being on the show), Correct? Mr Ducksworth responds Thank You (meaning ty for having me on the show, interview, film, whatever), i may be missing something? but i see both parties being mutually cordial by thanking 1 another!

Or......................................... we might be so preconditioned to say whatever is easiest and requires the least amount of thought to get on with our lives

Can I get a "PLEASE & THANK YOU" added to the list of words you never hear anymore?
Old saying--two little words that open doors with ease--"One is Thank You and one is Please"!
Your Welcome
