Fecal occult blood is basically smearing a speck of stool on a card, and seeing if it turns colors. That is very different than a colonoscopy.

This can be a controversial issue and based on individual decision,

as a colonoscopy test can be applied toward any polyp removal and the Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is a type of bacteria that is also tested

I take it you're quoting from somewhere? That information that is out of context, and only related because it is GI. H. Pylori primary affects upper GI and is easily treated with antibiotics. You would actually do an EGD to assess for h plyori damage, and you would see ulcerative damage and not polyps.

My Bad

Failed to include that EGD at times are recommenced if complex health issues were in question.

Even though one may have to go through some discomfort preparing for these procedures they may just save ones life
