    Default Jerky recipes to share?

Does anyone else out there make jerky & want to share some recipes? I just put on a batch. Half was ground deer meat mixed with powdered seasonings that came with the dehydrator. The other half was a London Broil sliced & marinated overnight in:
    2/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
    2/3 cup Soy sauce
2 tsp. each of liquid smoke & Texas Pete
1 tsp. each of black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, & salt

Your jerky recipe sounds fine to me. I have tried different marinades that I have blended on my own but a few years back at a hunting and fishing show I bought some marinade from Crockett Creek and that's about all I ever use now. You can also use it to marinade a lot of other meats too. I usually marinate the meat, 99% of the time it is deer meat, overnight. I make my own spices which is really a blend of whatever you like. I use celery salt, paprika, onion powder, cayenne pepper, black pepper, salt, garlic powder and red pepper flakes. As you can see I like my jerky spicy so you can substitute any of the spices for whatever you like. I usually just blend them all together in an old spice bottle and shake well to mix them up. To be honest I don't measure any of these, I just pretty much use equal amounts of each. I usually start with a deer roast that is almost all the way thawed out because it will slice better if it is still a little frozen. After marinating overnight I pat the meat dry and apply a coating of the spices and put in the dehydrater. Trial and error depending on what kind of dehydrater you use but it usually takes about 7 hours to get done. Here is the website for Crockett Creek if you are interested.http://www.crockettcreek.com

. Keeps you warm on a cold day crappie fishing.

Ya ever try the Jerky Shooter at Wally World, it's not to bad. Not as good as home made but it's fast an easy. The wife and grandkids luv the stuff. I don't even use the dehydrator anymore, just shoot it out on a grate on an aluminium covered cookie sheet. In the oven at about 200 degrees turning them once in awhile, only takes about an hour and a half...izzy Oh I forgot , they sell the seasoning for it there too. Comes with the seasoning and curing salt, the Original is the best.

Yeah, that is what I used with the ground deer meat. It is OK, I like the real stuff better.
