    Default Great picture Tom

I started out with a 1952 Whizzer Sportsman 20" wheels. Then started stepping up to a HD 125, then a 165 & finally a KHK...The KHK was my last..I was with ape hanger handlebars on the 165..:D..The KHK was too much machine for me..Almost met my Waterloo on that one..

    Good memories...

I do remember the bikes at Sears...Also the Allstate car that was really a Henry J..

I think the early Allstate cars were English Fords. Maybe I'm wrong. That would have been late 40s.
Thought I was wrong once before but I was mistaken.

I have a sears catalog from the 30s,they even sold houses.

And the "bikers" thought they came up with handlebars. Ha. They came up with the new meaning of hygiene.

I've had to work all my life; my uncles always managed gas stations in the 60's..full service...pumped a many of gallons in some old cars back in the day..times sure have changed.

Cool looking old bikes. My first was a 77 Kawasaki KE 100. Like you say we rode them everywhere. Sheriff and or his deputies warned us every weekend to stay off the roads. We wouldn't listen. Backroad riding thru 2 counties. My 2 best buds had the exact same bikes.

Tom, you struck a familiar cord with me on this post. I started with an Allstate Cruiseair (like a Vespa) 1950's model, then a Cushman Eagle, then a Mustang Stalion. They were all great rides at the time. My buddy had a Zundapp that smoked like a tar-wagon! We rode a million miles on those old bikes (without a helmet)! Got a few scars to this day.

Mine smoked too. Ring, ding, ding......It had an unusual sound for a 2 stroker.

My brother had an Eagle. He broke his foot trying to crank it. :D
