Default Just curious, how many agnostics and atheists do we have posting here?

Just curious. Might has well have some parity. Thought it would be good for those who don't ascribe to any particular faith or belief in a higher being to have a place to stand up and be counted. Then, those who feel uncomfortable or disagree with this type of thread or those beliefs could then hijack it and turn it into a political ramble about "w" this and I hate "w" that. So, stand up agnostics and atheists. Let your voice be heard!

For what its worth, I'm throwin my hat in on this one. I am agnostic, and am glad to see someone (else) representing the other side of the coin.

Ha, good one. Never hurts to have some balance.

I used to be athiestic in my beliefs, but I'm now obviously on the other side of the fence. Truth is, i just didn't know, so i guess I was really agnostic.

AGNOSTIC= in greek, A- don't/no/non no and GNOSTIC- know, so AGNOSTIC= DON'T KNOW.

Atheism is actually a religion in not beleiving in a deity. A- don't.no/non and THEIST- beleiver in a deity, so non-beleiver in a deity.

it always used to tick me off when someone wanted to label me atheist or agnostic. i beleived what i beleived and that was that. my beleifs actually used to change on a daily basis according to whatever book or article I was reading at the time that appealed to me.

Now that i am Chrisitan, i don't mind that label at all as long as people assosciate that with Christ and not all the judgemental garbage. Judgemental people make me just as angry as it does you folks. Not my place to judge, just to tell about Christ and do my best to be Christlike in attitude and behavior. i am not equipped to, nor am I qualified to judge anyone, that is for the Lord and Him only.

And we act like this Nightstalking thing is new.

For some excitment, read the next verse. A special guest arrived, they filled their coolers and had a fish fry on the beach...in the morning. My kind of people.- Bowfin

Default You guys are missing the point.

I have not stated my personal religious beliefs. I am of the agreement with fatboy that my religious views are personal and they will stay that way.

However, if I remember my sunday school teachings correctly (yes I was forced to go to sunday school as a wee un) that Jesus Christ chastised the pharasees (sp?) because they threw up eleborate prayers in public in the hopes of impressing the masses as to their religious authority and power. Jesus Christ taught that prayer was to be done in private.

"But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly” (Matt. 6:6)

But, I digress.

I am not an agnostic or atheist. I don't believe either one can exist. We all worship something. It may not be a deity or a higher being but we all do have gods or idols either of this world or not.

But, the point of my original post was to try to point out that a man made a post. He wanted to know who in here followed Jesus Christ of Nazareth and professed to be "Christians". It took about 2 pages before we had ppl posting I hate GW this and I hate Clinton that. That was the point ppl. I wanted to show that some ppl are so hate filled that they take a post as simple as "are you a christian" and turn it into a political ramble that ppl could care the hell less about.

Once again this board has succeeded in what it is designed for. That being my AMUSEMENT AND FUN! Thanks for the entertainment you guys.

Never understand people getting amusement and fun out of someone else's pain and suffering and claim to be Christians. There is usually a reason that someone doesn't believe as christians do and maybe for a good reason to them. Doesn't God teach forgiveness?

Default never professed to be a christian

reading comprehension. it's a good thing. like i said, who i follow and what i follow and who i worship and who i don't worship is my business.

the essence of comedy is laughing at others pain and misfortune. look at the three stooges. why do we laugh? moe beats curly with a hammer...curly pokes moe in the eye..larry takes an ice pick to the nose. you show me one comedy sketch that doesn't derive it's humour from poking fun at others pain and misery? you might be a redneck if? those are funny as hell. why? they poke fun at redneck's. you ever stopped to think about ppl who live like he is describing in his jokes? you think they don't find it funny also? That is why we laugh because we have been there. We have done that. I get loads of fun at laughing at other ppl's as well as my own faults and mistakes.

i say leave politics to the politicians.
leave religion to the priests, rabbis, fathers, pastors, ministers, etc...
and crappie fishing to the crappie fishermen.

i don't care if you like george w. i don't care if you like bill c. i don't care if you like or follow jesus c. i like crappie fishing. i like catfishing. i like to read about fishing. nobody's opinion in here means a hill of beans about religion and politics. not mine, not yours, not anyone's. so, where does that leave us? if you don't want to open yourself up to pokes and prods and jokes then keep your opinions off the board. if you can't handle it then stay away from it. pure and simple.

and yes, you guys are very, very entertaining. why else would i be here reading your posts?
