Default lining up a sattelite dish

Does any one now how to line up a dish network dish, I want to take my unit out of the house and use it while camping. I have an extra dish.

The general direction is SSW, and if you are on dish network, they will talk you in on channel 100....

Get the pole vertical, then there is a guide on the dish to align it. There is a mode on the receiver to tune. Turn the receiver and TV on then adjust until you see some signal. Practice at home. I can align one in about 30 seconds after putting 20 or so in.

I bought a signal strength meter off Ebay for around $20 that beeps and has meter to show signal strength. There are two strong readings close to each other but mine, Direct TV, is more to the west or right than the other. Makes it easy and it reads instantlly unlike the signal meter avaliable on the TV station. Seeya, Don

Yes percher I thought it was some kind of mtr. out thair I am going to call Radio Shack today.

For dishnetwork all you need to know is your zipcode at the location that you are going to set the dish up for. In the setup/dish point just enter the the zip code. Then it will tell you what the settings will be for the alinament of the dish. Just bring yourself a compass and your all set.
