My question is: if all this new data is true about immunity, then why do they push for annual flu shots? Death panel.

The government is so dependable. Who is the shot Czar?

They have plenty who are qualified because they can all stick it in you

As for the immunity thing, i heard that back in the 70's there was a swine flu outbreak and shots were given and if you got one it is still good, but who knows, besides i cant remember that far back.

Default Yearly Flu Shots

Yearly flu shots are necessary due to antigenic drift and shift. These are naturally occuring mutations in the virus that MAY make it unrecognizable to your immune system. Researchers track these shifts and update flu vaccines to attempt to assist your body's defenses to fight the flu. I'm fairly certain that the death panels have a minimal input.

So viruses mutate. That means there is no natural immunity to a viral infection.

So the senior citizens immunity propaganda is bogus. Death panel.

A higher percentage of the elderly display partial immunity. They have been exposed to many more virus phenotypes and their immune system is more likley to recognize this than younger people. Its not politics, just science. No death panels.

There was a good outbreak of swine flu in '77/'78. Consensus among health professionals is that those who were around then "may" have partial residual immunity from the outbreak. Those born later were never exposed. Getting immunized is a personal decision, but, I think if the pandemic doesn't quiet down in a couple of months, immunization may become mandatory?

Oh yea. Here is someone that truthfully speaks the liberal loon bull crap.

The truth comes out at about 1:18 in the 2:05 min video.
YouTube - Robert Reich: What An Honest President Would Say About Health Reform

And Cane Pole I for one have greatly enjoyed your input on CDC even though the liberals think for you to be a good citizen its time for you to exit.

Liberal Loon? Im a 53 yo ex marine who happens to be a health care provider.I consider myself rather conservative. My comments are not about politics, but rather evidence based health care. Its ludicris to think that someone would just deny flu vaccinations to the healthy elderly because they are less worthy of health care. The fact is, they are the least likley to be infected and untill we have enough vaccine we must ration it. I would gladly give up my spot if it would help younger people. As for canepole, he has proven time and again he can hold his own with anyone.
