Well, the boat may not make the fisherman, but the boat can sure make him more comfortable. And the more comfy the fisherman, the more he can concentrate on fishing instead of how to keep his backside from aching.

Comfy and safer. There are different degrees of safety with different boats. I like 'em long and wide. LOL

I wanted a Lund and bought used to save some money over a new one.
Had to shop over the internet since they are hard to find but got a good deal on a little used one. I fish in some big waves and wanted the safety of the deep v of Lund.

Though my Sea Nymph 14R that I have now seems to keep me safe with it
being a deep v utility model,I still choose Lund over anything else for the same reason you prefer Lund. Then there is the quality and dependability
that comes with choosing Lund as well over the others. Don't know about
the rest of you,...but for me,it's either Lund,Crestliner,or Sea nymph,...or no
boat at all! Don't know if they still make them, but Crestliner had an XCR1462
which is practically the same boat as a Lowe/SeaNymph 1462V(14R). I still
keep Lund as my number one choice,...new or used,...Sea Nymph second, and
Crestliner third!
