175,000 miles on her and the only thing I want to change is the engine. I want to drop ina V8. The little old 4.3L V6 is great, however a V8 in an S10-Blazer will smoke all 4 tires.

Honesty, I got no complaints with my truck. She gets me and the family where we want to go, powerfull, reliable, and easy to work on.

Well, mine is not easy to work on, but it does have over 178k on it and the only thing I am skert of is getting a new truck. Thinking about the 5.7 toyota, just do not know. Will keep this one till it leaves me on the side of the road somewhere. When we travel (all ways cross country pulling the boat), I will get another. Right now though, my 10 year old truck is doing me just fine.

I bought an 03 Chevy stepside when it was 2 years old with only 17000 miles. Thought I made a great deal. But when I drove it home I saw brandnew ones advertised on TV for $5000 less.
Other than that, I wished it was a crewcab. We got the pontoon bug shortly afterward buying the pickup.

Wouldn't change either one of them. 2000 Chevy crew cab 5.7 with full towing package all electric 4 speed auto. 4wd. with only 40,000 miles on it. Have fiberglass topper on it, and can tow my multi-speices boat down the interstate at 75 mph and getting 15 mpg.
My other is a 2002 Chevy TrailBlazer V-6 with the tow package. Just use it to pull local sometimes but when we go someplace I usually take the truck because it is roomier and the seats are more comfortable than the TrailBlazer and we have more room to haul things. EB

Hey crappiepappy, what kind of mpg do ya get with that 4.7? My 5.4 gets 17 empty and just over 12 pulling the 3k lb boat at 70 down the road. I have sure wondered about the 5.7's and what they get as far as mileage goes.
