Default Inaugural NASCAR Hall of Fame

I cant believe among the 25 people listed that Bill Elliot's name is not on that list. I would never vote without his name being on there. He won the most popular driver I think for like 13 years straight. I think he would have won it even longer if he had never taken his name out of the contest when he did. He did the right thing when Earnhardt passed away and pulled his name out so he wouldnt get any votes. What a class act the man has always been. He is one of the best drivers ever and if the rules would not have changed when they did with restrictor plates and all, i think he would have won many more races. They didn't call him awesome Bill for nothing. I have heard many people in the past that wasn't a fan of him say he was one of the greatest of all time. They wasn't against him for any reason, they just had their own favorite driver. I dont think many people have a love hate relationship with Elliot. Alot of people loved him but even those who didn't support him respected him and didnt hate him. just blows my mind he is not on the list. What about that Mark Martin, he is still showing what an old man of racing can do.

Looks like they went really old school for the inaugural, all the way back to the roots......most people nowadays havent even heard of some of them folks on that list, but they were pioneers of the sport.....Awesome Bill from Dawsonville will be in there soon, you can bet on that.

I heard on a radio report about this guy that back early in his career he drove his race car from Oregan to Darlington SC, raced it, and then drove it back home........cant remember where he finished , but that musta been one heck of a car

fishinrod alot of them were old school but several of them were right in the same sort of class as Elliot, some of them I think Elliot should be way ahead of. As you said though, he will be there soon but to not make the list above some of those people is crazy to me.
