Here's the most depressing part:
"... the provision got only 58 votes, two short of the 6o votes needed for passage under Senate rules.
Two Republicans, Senators Richard G. Lugar of Indiana and George V. Voinovich of Ohio, joined with 37 Democrats to reject the amendment ..."

The reasoning for those who voted against it, was that the Federal Govt shouldn't interfere with state rights. That can go both ways fellas. When the Feds want to grab our guns, we can say stay outta the state's business.
Here in PA we have a Senator turncoat, Spector he left the republicans after many years and joined the democrats. The reasoning was all the republicans here hate him and he would never win again on a republican ticket. Our other Senator is a newly elected democrat, and and he voted for the bill. Go figure?

Please correct me if im wrong but i think most states that have right to carry will allow you carry if you cross over into their state if they also have right to carriy laws. I'm progun as much as anybody but im also big on states rights.
